Spring Friend Card

Hello Everyone!

Corina here for the my last week as March Guest Designer! Time flew by so quickly! In this last week I travelled south to Vancouver BC, where Spring has sprung! Only to return home to a winter Storm and more snow! So this week, my inspiration came from the few days I spent in "Spring"!

I thought that I would share a picture of my work process when I made this card. I started off with white cardstock for my die cuts (except for Friend, I knew I wanted the sentiment dark!). I  proceed by arranging the die cuts to form my scene. From there, I painted, spritzed, glittered, coloured and inked to create my chosen colour palette.

The finished card is always a little different from my concept at the beginning! But that is okay! I always enjoy my creative journey with each and every craft project I do!

Hope you enjoyed!

Nana's Card

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to share with you my latest card creation using Cheery Lynn Dies!

Using the dies with white cardstock allows me the flexibility to ink to match my pattern paper. I used distress ink at first and did not get the intensity that I wanted. So I grabbed three of my new Inka Golds and tried them out. It was so easy to colour my die cuts! I know that this will be a technique I will use frequently!

As you might have seen, I have been loving the look of pearls to enhance the elegance of the die cuts. On the Butterfly, I used Inka Gold in Apricot & Pink, applied a layer of Glossy Accents and then added the pearls for a finishing touch.

My mother keeps asking when I was going to make a card for her - so here Nana, this one is for you!

Cheery Lynn Dies:
Rose Leaf Strip - B241
Miniature Rose - B152
Medium Rose - B154
Large Rose - B155
Chicken Wire - FRM144
Ankara Lace Border - B332
Expandable Tiny Borders - B215
Exotic Butterfly Medium #2 - DL115

Thank you so very much for the wonderful comments last week. I absolutely love reading them.

Take care,

Corina Finley

Garden Gate Card

Hello Everyone!

Corina here again for my second Friday post as March Guest Designer over on the Cheery Lynn Blog.

I pieced together two Cheery Lynn dies - the Garden Gate and the Victorian Picket Fence to create the front flaps that interlock. They worked so well together!

Once again, all my flower were cut out from white cardstock and then inked and sprayed with homemade shimmer spray. I added the trellis, greenery, hummingbirds, which also were all cut from white cardstock and a few pearls.

Cheery Lynn Guest Designer!

Hello!

Exciting News! I am Cheery Lynns Guest Designer for the month of March!

Please take a look at their blog for wonderful designs, inspiration, weekly challenges and of course to see my posts!

Welcome to my first day on this exciting new journey as Guest designer for March 2014!

I hope your week has gone well so far! Mine here in beautiful British Columbia, Canada has been quite busy, cold but great! Chasing after my two boys (7 & 3 years old), keeping DH on track, and paper-crafting fills my days!

I’m bursting with excitement to share my card creations with you all, using the wonderful Cheery Lynn Dies. I will be sharing with you a card I created using a few of my cherished Floral strip dies and a couple Doily dies to play along with this week's challenge here on Cheery Lynn's blog.

The magic about creating with the Cheery Lynn Floral Dies is that you do not have to have  "fancy" paper in the "perfect" colour!  I cut my flowers out in white cardstock and then colour/ink to match.

I love creating cards like this, where I can use a variety of Cheery Lynn Dies and create a layered look, giving the card detail and depth. It is easy (the dies do the hard part!) and I love my creations when I am done!

On this Card, I used Cheery Lynn Dies:

Italian Flourish Doily - DL103
Sophia's Heart - DL184
Flourish Leaf Strip - B178
Rose Leaf Strip - B241
Shasta Daisy - B310
Medium Rose - B154
Large Rose - B155
Daisy Strip - B259
Coved Rectangle - XM-10
Horizon Coved Rectangle Boutique Stacker Frames - DL251
Love (Set of 2) - B227
Sentiment Frame #1 - B189

*On the Flowers I used: Distress Inks to colour my flowers, I did a bit of spray misting with some homemade shimmer spray, and then added a few pearls, a stick pin and seam binding to create this floral arrangement!

Hope you Enjoyed my first post! Please let me know with comments below!

Take care,

Corina

Hello!

This week I found my inspiration from a old book from a local re-use store and the new release Lattice Valance Border - B406. I cut two borders and pieced them together to go around my card. I used a few of my favourite flower dies and the card came together!

Please click over to the blog and take a look at all the wonderful entries!
